Vitamin C For Mature Skin

Vitamin C is essential for mature skin — but not all forms are equal. Learn which types work best, how to apply them, and what to pair them with.

Vitamin C For Mature Skin

Vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid) is the most potent antioxidant for skin. At 10–20% concentration, it neutralizes free radicals, brightens hyperpigmentation, and supports collagen synthesis. Essential for mature skin.

Stabilized forms — magnesium ascorbyl phosphate (MAP), ascorbyl palmitate, tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate — are gentler and more shelf-stable than pure L-ascorbic acid. Ideal for sensitive mature skin.

Apply vitamin C in the morning before SPF. It enhances sunscreen protection by neutralizing free radicals from UV exposure. The vitamin C + SPF combination is the most important morning anti-aging step.

Pair with vitamin E and ferulic acid for enhanced stability and efficacy (the CE Ferulic approach). Niacinamide can be used in the same routine but at different times if sensitivity occurs.

LifeCell includes stabilized vitamin C (magnesium ascorbyl phosphate) in its all-in-one formula — providing antioxidant protection without needing a separate vitamin C serum.
